Pre-K

Community Christian School offers a one-of-a-kind PreK program based on complete Biblical-integration and Dr. Gesell's philosophy of "play to learn".  We believe that children learn best when allowed to apply the instruction to their every day life.  What do children do best?  Play!  We encourage students to learn through play.

This well developed program is led by Mrs. Sara Cornett.  Mrs. Cornett has taught for over ten years spending the majority of that time in the early childhood arena.  Cornett holds an all level art, Early Childhood - 4th grade generalist, and special education certification through the State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC). She is a art enthusiast, who loves to bring her classroom to life through hands on learning and playing. Her motto in life is to live by "expectant faith" and "praying for the impossible".

Our PreK program is designed on a 7 to 1 student to teacher ratio.  The classroom is full of learning opportunities in the areas of phonics, numbers, science, social studies, Bible, language development, readiness skills, music, art, drama and Spanish.

Our PreK students participate weekly in elementary chapel every Friday.  This is a wonderful time of students joining together to worship God.  Additionally, every Thursday, PreK and Kindergarten students have the opportunity to read with their "Chapel buddy" from 5th or 6th grade. They also participate in our Thanksgiving program with the entire school through music and drama.

Students may attend 2, 3, or 5 Days a week.  We offer a half-day and a full-day program. Half-day is from 8:00-12:00pm and full-day is 8:00-2:30pm. Parents needing extended care can inquire about our aftercare program.

Our classrooms are focused on being a fun, loving, and Christ centered environment.

CCS PreK is fully accredited by the International Christian Accrediting Association (ICAA) which is approved by the Texas Private School Accrediting Commission (TEPSAC).
