Industry-leading Dual Credit Program
Community Christian School began our dual credit program with the goal of exposing high school students to college coursework through a biblical worldview while students are still in high school. Data has shown that students who complete just 1 college course while still in high school are 200 times more likely to complete a bachelor's degree. CCS leads the state with a robust program that offers various courses. CCS alum, Jordan Mazik, was the first student to complete her associate degree at Weatherford College prior to graduating high school. Several CCS seniors have followed and have now graduated with an associate degree prior to graduating high school.
The dual credit program is offered through a consortium with Weatherford College in Weatherford, TX. CCS students can take a variety of courses through various methods, such as online, face to face at the CCS campus, face to face at any of the Weatherford College campuses, and hybrid courses. Courses and methods are based on current availability through WC, current needs of CCS and administration discretion.
Many high school students find it beneficial to work on basic course work for a college degree while in high school. The Dual Credit program allows students to take courses that will count for high school credit and college credit at the same time. Courses that students have taken in the past are U S History, Government, Biology, College Algebra, Contemporary Math, English, Introduction to Theatre, Introduction to Psychology and many more. A unique aspect of the CCS Dual Credit program is that we continue to align with our vision of full biblical integration. All students in Dual Credit courses participate in classrooms on the CCS campus to provide biblical integration to the course material being taught through WC. We believe that biblical integration is extremely important and want to continue to provide a biblical worldview throughout these courses.
