Welcome to CCS Theater!

At Community Christian School, theater is more than performance—it’s a platform for students to glorify God through creativity, teamwork, and excellence. From our award-winning One Act Play team to the beloved Dinner Theater and heartwarming Elementary Fall Program, we provide meaningful opportunities for every student to shine on stage or behind the scenes.

The Community Christian School Theater Department is dedicated to enriching students’ educational experiences by guiding them to discover, develop, and refine their God-given talents in the theatrical arts. We aim to inspire excellence in every aspect of theater—on stage, behind the scenes, and in leadership—while nurturing confident, servant-hearted students who glorify the Lord through their gifts.

Theater at CCS is more than just performances—it’s about building confidence, fostering creativity, and teaching students to use their talents to honor the Lord. Whether competing, performing, or serving behind the scenes, our theater students exemplify excellence and teamwork.

Award-Winning Legacy

Each spring, our Drama Department competes in the CSAF/TCAF One Act Play competition, where schools across the region gather to showcase their theatrical talents. This exciting event highlights a wide range of performances, with honors awarded for:

  • Best Actor & Actress
  • All-Star Cast (First & Second)
  • Honorable Mention
  • Best Technical Crew
  • Best Set Design
  • Best Director
  • Runner-Up & Overall State Champion

We are honored to have been named State Champion for an impressive eleven consecutive years, a testament to the dedication, creativity, and excellence of our students and faculty.

Opportunities for Every Student

The CCS Theater Department offers hands-on opportunities for all students, whether they thrive in the spotlight or behind the curtain. Students can:

  • Perform as actors and actresses
  • Manage lighting and sound design
  • Build and paint sets
  • Design costumes, hair, and makeup
  • Assist with stage management and technical production

This collaborative approach ensures that every student gains valuable experience, builds responsibility, and learns the importance of teamwork in a professional, Christ-centered environment.

Signature Fall Productions

Our first major production of the academic year is the much-anticipated Dinner Theater—a family-friendly event that doubles as a fundraiser for our theater department. Guests enjoy either a full-course evening dinner show or a relaxed dessert matinee while being entertained by our talented student performers. This event highlights not only the skill but also the heart and creativity of our students.

On the Thursday before Thanksgiving Break, our K4–6th grade students present a joyful and uplifting seasonal performance. Every child participates, bringing smiles and gratitude to the entire CCS community. Selected secondary students and Warrior Choir members assist with staging and performance elements, making this event a beautiful showcase of talent across all ages.
